What is trunking system ?

Metal Trunking is used as cable supporting system in electrical installation. Commonly are install for shoplots, office or even house premises. This trunking stores all types and sizes of electrical cables. Commonly it is  hidden behind plaster within walls or underneath flooring, and helps keep everything in the position.

Types of trunking system

Common types of plastic conduit include PVC and UPVC trunking, halogen-free ABS conduit, polyamide, and polypropylene. Flat PVC cable conduit is often used around skirting or in dado installations, and white or black plastic trunking is a common sight in various workplaces, particularly offices.

• 1" x 1"   - suitable for small wiring such as lighting circuit.

• 1" x 2"  - commonly insert with power circuit.

• 2" x 2"  - can support more up to 30 cables

• 2" x 4" 

• 2" x 6" 

• 3" x 4" 

• 4" x 6" - for larger cables 

Safety and grounding 

Commonly this type of trunking metal is required to be grounded or connected with CPC (circuit protective conductor).
